Post subject: Income or dress?

quite frankly I find quite the opposite, women are much better dressed than men - a lot of the men wearing suits are the same crappy suit everyday. By the way I remember 30 years ago working for most companies where you not only had to wear a suit but you were not allowed to leave your desk without your jacket - and no beards or moustaches!

I think a lot of managers waste much time with nonsense. Smart casual dress code is pretty much accepted around the world, unless one works in a funeral home. Of course many men now dress as if they do.

Ok this isnt about people getting the same income as i believe income should not be based on your gender, but what i dont understand is the number of companies (in Melbourne in particular) that have a formal business attire dress code for men, yet women can come in to work in what can only be classed as casual! If its suits and ties for men, shouldnt it be suit and formal shirt for women?
